The Perfect Stranger
Thinking it’s a prank by some colleagues, attorney Nikki Cominsky accepts a mysterious invitation to a “dinner with Jesus of Nazareth.” She soon finds herself drawn into a fascinating conversation with a baffling man who claims to be Jesus and seems to know a disturbing amount about Nikki’s personal life. As the evening progresses, their conversation touches on life, God, meaning, pain, faith, and doubt—and it seems that having dinner with The Perfect Stranger may change Nikki’s life forever.
Another Perfect Stranger
Ten years have passed. Nikki’s daughter Sarah, now 19 and heading west for college, is at her own spiritual crossroads. To make matters worse, her mother has recently revealed that, nearly a decade ago, she was the dinner guest of the Almighty himself. Thinking her mom is certifiably insane, Sarah strikes up an unlikely conversation with a travel companion who shares her disdain for religion, but who shakes her belief system to the core.
Nikki and the Perfect Stranger
Six years ago, attorney Nikki Cominsky encountered Jesus the old-fashioned way, in a face-to-face meeting, and began her adventure with God. The Christian life seemed a breeze . . . for a while. But now, having done all the prescribed spiritual routines, she wonders where her closeness with Jesus has gone. Burned out and desperate, Nikki voices her complaints to God during a late-night interstate trip. Then she suddenly runs out of gas—and finds Jesus along the roadside carrying a gas can. A road trip ensues beyond anything Nikki could have imagined.
